Andhra Pradesh: Amarnath gets rousing reception on arrival as Minister

He bags portfolios of Heavy Industries, Commerce and IT
Anakapalli MLA Gudivada Amarnath, who arrived for the first time in the city after taking over as Minister for Heavy Industries, Infrastructure, Investments, Commerce and IT, was given a rousing reception by party leaders and cadres at the Visakhapatnam Airport on Thursday evening.
He proceed to Anakapalli in a large rally and had a darshan of Goddess Nookambika.
Addressing the crowds, Mr. Amarnath said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has created a record of sorts by allocating 80% of the Cabinet berths to those from the SC, ST and BC communities. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Anakapalli Assembly constituency for giving him the opportunity to represent them and said that he would always remain indebted to them. Later, he garlanded a statue of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at the four-road junction in the town.
Anakapalli MP B.V. Satyavathi and corporators M. Sunita, Konathala Neelima and Jajula Prasanna Lakshmi, and several other party leaders were present.
Later, the Minister visited the party office late in the night, and participated in a programme organised by the party’s additional secretary Ravi Reddy.
Mr. Amarnath thanked the Chief Minister for the trust reposed in him despite his young age and entrusting him with five key portfolios. He said that he would strive to live up to the expectations of the Chief Minister. He also promised to work for the development of north Andhra, and make Visakhapatnam as a IT hub and work towards the industrial development of Visakhapatnam region.
He also thanked Rajya Sabha Member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy for his elevation as Minister.
