Kerala CM mourns death of five medical students in Alappuzha road accident, two others critical.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condoled the death of five first-year medical students in a fatal road accident in Alappuzha late on Monday (December 2, 2024).
In a statement here, Mr. Vijayan said the deaths of Muhammad Abdul Jabbar (Kannur), Muhammad Ibrahim (Lakshadweep), Devanandan (Malappuram), Ayush Shaji (Alappuzha) had deeply saddened Kerala.
The deceased were students of the Government Medical College Hospital, Alappuzha.
The accident occurred at Kalarcode on the national highway. Their rented car veered to the right of the carriageway. It collided with a KSRTC bus coming in the opposite direction.
The police said there were seven students in the vehicle. Two of them are in critical care.
