VIZIANAGARAM:
Former Vice-President of India Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday (February 8, 2025) said poor patients suffering from cancer could get a new lease of life if they are able to get treatment within their means against the backdrop of skyrocketing of medical expenses.
He visited the newly constructed Uppalapati Vijayasri Foundation-Sri Gurudeva Charitable Trust cancer hospital in Mangalampalem of Kothavalasa mandal of Vizianagaram district. Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the initiative of both organisations in constructing the first cancer hospital which would help many patients from North Andhra districts.
He has also distributed artificial limbs to physically-challenged persons and hailed the Trust’s founder Raparthi Jagadish Babu for extending support to needy and differently-abled persons. Srungavarapukota MLA Kolla Lalitha Kumari said she was happy with the establishment of a cancer hospital in her constituency.
Mr. Jagadish Babu said the trust had been conducting medical camps in all parts of North Andhra region to identify cancer symptoms among the women since early treatment would ensure complete relief from the disease.
