Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasizes improving government services, promoting 'work from home' model, and digital literacy.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked the officials to ensure that the government services offered to the people should match the quality standard and satisfaction expected by the beneficiaries.
“The officials need to focus on improving the quality of government services and implementing the programmes to meet the people’s expectations,” the Chief Minister said while reviewing the implementation of the government schemes and programmes on Monday.
Mr. Naidu asked the officials to identify the employees responsible in the departments in which recurring complaints arise, and ensure improvements.
“The senior officials need to counsel their subordinate staff to improve the delivery of services. The government will not tolerate any corruption in government departments,” he said and described corruption as a disease which must be eradicated completely.
“The government is considering promoting the ‘work from home’ model in the State. In addition to it, the government is also exploring the ‘neighbourhood working’ and ‘co-working’ models. The aim is to create large-scale opportunities by providing facilities, training, and opportunities for work remotely,” he said.
As part of this initiative, the Chief Minister said the village and ward secretariat staff were conducting a survey on ‘work from home’ model. The target is to survey 26.8 million people, of which 8.206 million have been surveyed so far. Among them, 1.72 lakh people are working under the ‘work from home’ model. Additionally, 2.043 million people have expressed their preference for ‘work from home’ model if suitable opportunities are provided,” Mr. Naidu said.
Mr. Naidu also reviewed the WhatsApp services available as part of the Mana Mitra initiative, noting that 200 types of services were being provided through WhatsApp now.
