
33 Telangana districts get a Transgender Clinic each; 213 ambulances flagged off by CM to celebrate ‘Health Festival’

Telangana CM inaugurates Maitri Clinics for transgender healthcare, increases ambulance fleet, launches nursing and paramedical colleges.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy virtually inaugurated 33 Trangender Clinics - one in each of the 33 districts in the State on Monday (December 2, 2024). These clinics named ‘Maitri Clinics’ aim to provide free health check-ups, diagnostic tests, and medicines for transgender individuals, ensuring accessible and inclusive healthcare across Telangana, the Chief Minister said.
Alongside this, he flagged off 213 ambulances in Hyderabad. This addition increases the State’s ambulance fleet from 790 to 1,003, aiming to reduce the average response time from 18 minutes to 14 minutes.
As part of the Praja Palana - Praja Vijayaotsavalu celebrations being held from December 1 to 9 marking one year of Congress government in the State, multiple initiatives under the Health department were launched by the Telangana Chief Minister along with Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narsimha at a programme titled ‘Health Festival’ held in Hyderabad on Monday.
They have inaugurated 16 Nursing and 28 Paramedical Colleges too. Each nursing college now offers 60 B.Sc. Nursing seats, adding 960 seats this academic year and raising the total from 1,400 to 2,360. Similarly, the new paramedical colleges contribute 1,680 additional seats, bringing the total from 1,492 to 3,172.
On the occasion, appointment orders were handed over to 442 Civil Assistant Surgeons and 24 Food Safety Officers.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
