President Donald Trump told reporters Monday that he would disclose where the deal stands when he addresses a joint session of Congress Tuesday.
But after a tense exchange between Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Zelenskyy over whether diplomacy was the correct avenue to secure a peace deal and whether Russian President Vladimir Putin could be trusted, Trump kicked Zelenskyy out of the White House and said the Ukrainian leader could return when he was ready for peace. When asked Monday about the status of the rare-earth minerals deal, Trump told reporters that he would disclose where the deal stands when he addresses a joint session of Congress Tuesday in a speech akin to the annual State of the Union.
"I'll let you know," Trump told reporters Monday. "We're making a speech, you've probably heard about it, tomorrow night. I'll let you know tomorrow night ... it's a great deal for us."
