'White Lotus' Actor Calls 'SNL' Parody 'Mean' And 'Unfunny'

In an interview last week, Aimee Lou Wood implied the conversation around her teeth was sexist.
Aimee Lou Wood, who plays Chelsea in “The White Lotus,” wrote on Instagram that the parody of her on “Saturday Night Live” was “mean and unfunny.”
“But whilst in honest mode - I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny xo,” Wood wrote Sunday on her Instagram stories.
She continued in another slide: “Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the piss for sure - that’s what the show is about - but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”
Wood’s comments come after “SNL” parodied “The White Lotus” with a skit called “The White POTUS,” in which President Donald Trump, his family and advisers are at the hotel from “White Lotus.” When Robert F. Kennedy Jr., played by Jon Hamm, wonders aloud what taking fluoride out of the drinking water would do, a Wood-like character, played by Sarah Sherman, appears. To portray the character, Sherman is wearing fake gapped teeth similar to Wood’s.
Wood also shared on her Instagram stories that she “had apologies” from “SNL.”
