The chief of police at University of California Los Angeles has been temporarily reassigned as the school launches an investigation into its "security processes" following weeks of protests.

"There’s been a lot going on and I learned late yesterday that I’m temporarily reassigned from my duties as chief," Thomas reportedly told campus newspaper The Daily Bruin.
