U.S. sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson’s future in this summer’s Tokyo Olympics has been thrown into doubt after she reportedly tested positive for marijuana. The Gleaner, a Jamaican newspaper, first reported the news. It said Thursday that the 21-year-old athlete had tested positive for the drug at the U.S. track and field Olympic trials last month. Richardson bested her competitors in the 100-meter final at the trials, finishing with a time of 10.86 seconds. As Sports Illustrated noted at the time, she was the “United States’ best hope at a gold medal in the women’s 100m.”More Related News
