Top Democrats are calling for the release of Tufts University graduate student Rumeysa Ozturk, writing a letter to Trump administration officials about the "deeply troubling" incident.
"These are deeply troubling incidents. The Administration should not summarily detain and deport legal residents of this country merely for expressing their political views," wrote the Democrats, which include Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and members of The Squad. Greg Norman is a reporter at Fox News Digital.
"Absent compelling evidence justifying her detention and the revocation of her status, we call for Ozturk’s release and the restoration of her visa," they added.
