Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump proposed three presidential debates on three different television networks in September, among them an ABC News debate he had previously dropped out of after President Biden exited the race.
Speaking with reporters from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Thursday, Trump said his campaign has agreed to three debates, to be hosted by Fox News, ABC News and NBC News. The Sept. 10 debate to be hosted by ABC News is the only one in which the Harris campaign has also agreed to participate.
Trump said last week that the ABC News debate scheduled for Sept. 10, was "terminated," and instead said he'd debate on Fox News on Sept. 4. Vice President Kamala Harris responded that she would "be there on September 10th, like he agreed to."
The federal trial for three former Memphis police officers charged in the death of Tyre Nichols is set to begin jury selection on Monday. The former officers are charged with violating the civil rights of Nichols, a 29-year-old man whose fatal beating was caught on police cameras while also triggering protests and calls for police reform.
