A coming-of-age dramedy and a new psychological thriller are among the movies trending across streaming services like Hulu, Max, Peacock and Prime Video.
“The Platform 2” is currently the most popular movie on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.
The Spanish sci-fi horror film is a prequel to 2019′s “The Platform” (“El hoyo”), which follows prisoners living in a tall tower with one cell per level. The residents of this “Vertical Self-Management Center” can eat only from a platform that descends from the top all the way to the bottom and makes two-minute stops on each level.
Although the first film received mostly positive reviews, critics had more mixed responses to “The Platform 2.”
