“America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” is currently the third most popular show on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.
Released on June 20, the new docuseries follows the iconic cheer squad for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys during the 2023-24 season. It was directed by Greg Whiteley, who also created the cheerleading-themed show “Cheer” and other sports docuseries like “Last Chance U” and “Wrestlers.”
“America’s Sweethearts” dives into the grueling audition process for the squad, the intense pressure to exude unnatural perfection as a member and the shockingly low pay for the job.
