'That's Just Weird': Stephen Colbert Spots Baffling Trump Family Rule
HuffPost
The "Late Show" host found a strange confession in a recent Trump speech.
Stephen Colbert said Donald Trump is struggling to defend himself from allegations that he’s a fascist after former Chief of Staff John Kelly said Trump told him Adolf Hitler “did some good things” and praised Nazi generals.
In Georgia, for example, the former president revealed an unusual family rule from his childhood.
“Y’know, years ago, my father ― I had a great father, he’s tough guy ― he used to always say, ‘never use the word Nazi,’” Trump said. “And he’d say, ‘never use the word Hitler, don’t use that word.’”
“Well that’s just weird,” Colbert said. “You can’t say ‘Hitler?’ What does that mean? It’s not a swear word.”
He broke out his impression of Trump.
