TGSRTC leasing land parcels for Grade A warehouses, logistics, showrooms, hotels, with 25-year term and revenue generation strategy.
In an effort to monetise its land assets, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has begun the process of leasing out several land parcels across the State. The corporation has invited bids for these properties that are spread across the State, and span several acres. The move is a part of its strategy to generate revenue.
The land parcels that have been identified include at least 20 properties. Among these are Khammam New Bus Station, covering 1 acre and 31 guntas, the Turkayamjal-2 Depot, measuring 6 acres and 9 guntas, the Zonal Workshop in Karimnagar, spread over 4 acres and 13 guntas, and a parcel in Sircilla, of about 1 acre and 37 guntas.
The TGSRTC has specified that the leased properties can be utilised for Grade A warehouses, logistics companies, automobile service centres, showrooms, convention centres, hotels, or resorts. However, leasing for educational institutions or hostel accommodations is not permitted.
The lease term is 25 years, with an option for a five-year extension. The corporation is hopeful of bringing on board anchor tenants. The transport juggernaut had done a similar exercise in the past in its efforts to generate revenue.
