Temperatures soar in Telangana after heavy rains, with some districts hitting 40°C; IMD predicts further rise.
Following a brief spell of heavy rains earlier this week, temperatures are once again on the rise in Hyderabad and several other parts of Telangana.
According to data released by the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), seven out of the State’s 33 districts recorded maximum temperatures crossing the 40°C mark.
Nizamabad, Jagtial, Adilabad and Kumaram Bheem Asifabad reported the highest temperatures at 40.2°C, closely followed by Mancherial, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Karimnagar, which recorded 40.1°C. The remaining 26 districts reported daytime temperatures ranging between 38°C and 40°C. Hyderabad, meanwhile, recorded a maximum of 38.5°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a further rise in temperature over the next few days. According to the latest bulletin, maximum temperatures are expected to increase gradually by 2°C to 3°C over the next three days. For Hyderabad and surrounding areas, the IMD has predicted partly cloudy skies with hazy conditions during the morning hours over the next 48 hours. Daytime temperatures are likely to hover around 38°C, while the minimum is expected to be around 26°C.
