The Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has issued a press note addressing concerns and misinformation regarding the evaluation process of the Group-I Mains examination.
The Commission clarified that the evaluation was conducted with strict measures to ensure fairness and transparency.
According to the statement, the Group-I Mains examination took place from October 21 to 27 2024 within the HMDA jurisdiction. The evaluation of answer scripts commenced on November 1, 2024 and concluded on January 31, 2025.
To provide clarity, TSPSC released key statistics on candidate performance. Of the 20,161 candidates who appeared for the exam, the highest marks obtained in various papers ranged from 96.5 to 113.5, except for the qualifying English paper, where the highest score was 139.5.
Among the top 100 ranked candidates, 59 were male and 41 were female, while among the top 500, 296 were male and 204 were female. The community-wise breakdown of the top 500 ranks included 132 from the Open Category (OC), 228 from the Backward Classes (BC), 50 from the Scheduled Castes (SC), 38 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 52 from the Economically Weaker Section (OC-EWS).
The Commission explained that each answer script underwent a double evaluation process by two separate examiners, with the candidates’ details being detached beforehand to maintain anonymity.
A total of 361 evaluators were engaged across various subjects, with chief examiner committees comprising senior professors from reputed universities overseeing the process. The Commission emphasised that the evaluators, selected from government institutions and universities, were highly qualified and had prior experience with Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations.
