The Las Vegas Sun also talked about the Republican nominee's "hateful character."
The Las Vegas Sun ― in the 2024 election swing state of Nevada, where polling puts former President Donald Trump less than one point ahead of Democratic rival Kamala Harris ― has delivered a stinging rebuke of the GOP nominee.
The newspaper warned in an editorial published Wednesday that not only does Trump’s “racism, sexism, xenophobia” and more make him totally “unfit for any public office” but that his “mental acuity and sharpness are also in decline.”
“The nation must confront the fact that beyond his hateful character, he is crippled cognitively and showing clear signs of mental illness,” its board wrote, providing multiple examples of Trump’s “fragility.”
Trump “has never had the moral compass to lead this country,” the newspaper concluded. “But even his supporters cannot afford to ignore the signs that he may no longer have the mental faculties to lead it either. The stakes are simply too high.”
