CBC
This Thursday is Remembrance Day, and services in Waterloo region and the surrounding area will return to normal, although people are being asked to observe the day on their own and large crowds are being discouraged.
Organizers from area legions planned the events during COVID-19 restrictions and still have health policies in place ahead of scheduled observances.
People who do participate are asked to abide by COVID-19 rules, including wearing a mask and physical distancing.
Below is a list of locations in the area where Remembrance Day ceremonies are taking place.
The New Hamburg Legion is holding two ceremonies.
The first is Saturday, Nov. 6. The legion's website says the colour party will meet at the gates of the park at 10:15 a.m. ET. The second observance will be Thursday, Nov. 11. The legion website says the colour party will meet at the library starting at 10 a.m.
Both ceremonies are open to the public, with those in attendance asked to respect COVID-19 guidelines.
The Sikh Remembrance Day ceremony takes place on Sunday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Kitchener.
