Comedian Miranda Hart credited the documentary “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me” with encouraging her to address her own chronic illness.
A compliment can go a long way, even when it’s given to an award-winning multi-hyphenate like Selena Gomez.
Gomez was moved to tears last week when she appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” alongside British comedian and author Miranda Hart. During the interview, Hart credited the 2022 documentary “Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me” with encouraging her to publicly address her own health issues in her new book, “I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You.”
“It’s extraordinary I’m on the show with Selena. It makes me quite emotional,” Hart said. “When I saw your documentary on Apple about your illness struggles, I was thinking, ‘Do I share? You know, is this something I should do?’ Because it feels quite vulnerable.”
She went on to note: “I watched your documentary, and I just thought, ‘Absolutely, yes.’ And that’s what kept me writing.”
