NTK chief Seeman and 230 cadre arrested for protesting government, police deny permission for protest against sexual assault incident.
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator S. Seeman and over 230 NTK cadre were arrested when they tried to protest against the government on Tuesday. The police said Mr. Seeman called for the protest against the Anna University sexual assault incident. However, the Nungambakkam police denied permission to hold the protest in Valluvarkottam. As Mr. Seeman and the NTK cadre tried to stage a protest without permission, the police arrested and booked a case against them. During the arrest, Mr. Seeman alleged that the police were trying to oppress those who were planning to protest democratically.

Written, designed and directed by renowned theatre maker Ganesh Mandarthi, according to the synopsis, the play is both a mythological and social drama, intertwining two tales. One is the mythological saga of Shiva. The second tale is of a character resonating with Shiva’s intensity, who emerges as a revolutionary experiencing the anguish of lost love. The synopsis by the troupe says that the play also talks about female characters challenging societal norms and male ego, striving to transcend boundaries, whether in triumph or defeat.

The Majestic area — home to the Kempegowda Bus Station, Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna City railway station and Kempegowda Metro Station, all metres from each other — sees lakhs of passengers commute through it everyday. However, despite being a crucial transit hub, the lack of integration among different transport modes continues to cause significant inconvenience to commuters.
