Hurricane Milton lashed the western coast of Florida with 120-miles-per-hour winds as it made landfall on Wednesday evening just south of Sarasota. The storm battered the state with wind and rain overnight, destroying more than 100 homes.
As damage to the west coast was being surveyed on Thursday morning, Milton was soaking the central and eastern parts of the state. Flooding was reported on both coasts, and at least 116 tornado warnings were issued. More than three million customers are currently without power.
