It is now mandatory for those coming into Karnataka from neighbouring Maharashtra to produce either a RTPCR negative report or COVID-19 vaccination certificate as Karnataka has taken up special surveillance measures in the wake of Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 being reported from several districts in Maharashtra. As the November 30 deadline nears for installing vehicle location tracking devices (VLTD) and emergency panic buttons in public service and nationally permitted goods vehicles in Karnataka, transport unions representing cab, bus, and truck operators are urging the government to reconsider the mandate.
