President Droupadi Murmu, on Wednesday, reviewed the preparations for the festival’s inauguration and assessed the amenities planned for visitors. She also inaugurated an eatery by Mitti Café and a souvenir shop at the visitor facilitation centre.
The festival, organised in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) Hyderabad, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), is a celebration of nature aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainability. Through thematic stalls and workshops, visitors will have an opportunity to learn about innovations and technological advancements in agriculture and horticulture, fostering greater awareness and participation in these fields, said a release.
The staff of gram panchayats in Mysuru staged a demonstration outside the zilla panchayat office here on Wednesday in support of their demands, including a minimum wage of ₹31,000 a month and a pension of ₹6,000 to the retired GP staff and also to the families of those who died during their service period.
