Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) received an award for the innovation in using artificial intelligence (AI) at the awards ceremony held within Microsoft’s exclusive event “Leading the Era of AI,” held on Tuesday under the auspices and presence of HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai
Director-General of Qatar News Agency Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi received the award from Minister of Communications and Information Technology H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai in the presence of several officials, representatives of government agencies, experts, business leaders, innovators, and an elite group of Microsoft partners and customers.
QNA won the award for the innovation in using AI in recognition of its unprecedented achievements in the field of using and benefiting from modern technology and advancing digital transformation efforts in the field of media, especially with its use of the “audio and video analysis system,” which is a program based on AI in converting recorded video and audio clips into written text.
Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi appreciated the great support provided by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to governmental and non-governmental agencies to advance the digital transformation sector in the country through the use of modern technology and advanced techniques and making use of AI to develop services and the work environment.
He noted the keenness of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to advance digital transformation in various government institutions, keeping pace with the latest developments in information and communications technology at the national and international levels, and to enhance the digital future in the country while consolidating its position as a smart and technologically advanced country.
