Doha, Qatar: Qatar has made significant strides in the technology realm by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and building a knowledge-based economy for the people of the country, said an official.
This comes, during the ‘Lead the Era of AI’ event hosted yesterday by Microsoft Qatar in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Technology (MCIT) and under the patronage of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai.
During the keynote speech, the Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at MCIT, Sami Al Shammari said: “As we aim to be leaders in the global AI race, not mere participants, we seek partnerships with industry giants, including Microsoft, which is the cornerstone of our journey.”
He mentioned “Together, we have implemented robust cloud solutions, boosted our cybersecurity, and used the power of AI to optimise public services.”
The official outlined the National AI Strategy, based on six key areas such as education, data access, employment, business, research, and ethics. “This strategy is not just a plan, but a pledge to a future where AI influences every aspect of life, business, and governance,” he explained.
