The Portland Association of Teachers, which represents employees in Portland Public Schools, recently released guidance on "Teaching & Organizing for Palestine."
Joshua Q. Nelson is a reporter for Fox News Digital.
The handbook alleges that teachers were censored for "teaching about Palestine, posting pro-Palestine sentiments in schools, and even those wearing Pro-Palestine messages." Joshua focuses on politics, education policy ranging from the local to the federal level, and the parental uprising in education.
They list examples of district censorship including of "student work on the topics of Settler Colonialism and Zionism" and staff members "wearing clothing with the phrase 'From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,' claiming the phrase constituted hate speech and threatening to write up staff for insubordination if worn again." Joining Fox News Digital in 2019, he previously graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Political Science and is an alum of the National Journalism Center and the Heritage Foundation's Young Leaders Program.
