Indian men's hockey team loses semifinal to Germany 3-2 at Paris Olympics 2024, setting up bronze medal match with Netherlands.
Indian men’s hockey team lost the semifinal against Germany by 3-2 in the second semifinal of the hockey event at the Paris Olympics 2024, on Tuesday (August 6, 2024).
It was indeed an absorbing contest between India and Germany right from the word go.
Though India opened the scoring through Harmanpreet Singh scoring shot from a penalty corner, Germany equalled in the same quarter. Germany increased their lead through a penalty stroke and the scoreline read at 2-1 in favour of Germany.
After the first half, Germany and India attacked but it was Germany which held the nerve in the final stages by holding their 3-2 lead over India.
Germany will be up against Netherlands for the gold medal while India will once again be playing for bronze medal against Netherlands.
