Overwhelming majority of illegal immigrants aren't under federal supervision: analysis
Fox News
An analysis from a pro-enforcement group being shared by Republicans finds a small number of illegal immigrants are being monitored by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Adam Shaw is a politics reporter for Fox News Digital, primarily covering immigration and border security.
From there, the analysis cites numbers, confirmed by Fox, that the number on the non-detained docket — those not under supervision or detention — is more than 7 million. The remainder include gotaways and visa overstays and others. He can be reached at adam.shaw2@fox.com or on Twitter.
However, there are only around 41,500 in ICE detention beds, and over 180,000 are being supervised under ICE’s Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program, according to data from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University.
