Over 40,000 students write SSLC-1 exam in DK, Udupi

Over 28,000 students appeared for Class 10 SSLC-1 exams in Dakshina Kannada, with webcasted exam halls ensuring peace.
As many as 28,728 students appeared and 229 students were absent in Dakshina Kannada for the first language paper of the Class 10 SSLC-1 examination, which commenced on Friday.
In all, 5,827 students wrote and 52 were absent in Bantwal education block. As many as 5,269 students wrote in Mangaluru North, followed by 5,038 in Mangaluru South, 4,695 in Puttur, 4,050 in Belthangady, 1,946 in Moodbidri and 1,903 students in Sullia education blocks.
Dakshina Kannada Deputy Director of Public Instruction Govind Madiwal said webcasting of scenes in examination halls was enabled because of installation of CCTVs. Examination went on peacefully in all the centres, he said.
In Udupi district, a total of 1,3830 students wrote while 65 were absent for the first language paper. As many as 3,378 students wrote in Udupi, followed by 2,816 in Kundapur, 2,719 in Karkala, 2,713 in Brahmavar and 2,
204 in Byndoor education blocks, said an official press release.
