Ocasio-Cortez: 'Damn You Know It’s Bad When Even Trump Is Feeling Bad For Me'

Trump offered up his form of condolences after the New York lawmaker lost her bid to be the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) reacted to President-elect Donald Trump’s message that she “should keep trying,” saying, “it’s bad.”
“Damn you know it’s bad when even Trump is feeling bad for me,” she wrote on X on Wednesday, accompanying her message with a laughing emoji.
Ocasio-Cortez was remarking on a Wednesday post from Trump on Truth Social, where he wrote, “Really too bad that AOC lost the Battle for the Leadership Seat in the Democrat Party. She should keep trying. Someday, she will be successful!”
On Tuesday, the New York congresswoman lost the vote 131-84 to be the top-ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) called “bullshit” on the suggestion that there were generational overtones to his matchup against Ocasio-Cortez, 35.
“I’ve never had a shot,” said Connolly, 74. “This is my shot, irrespective of my age. I have something to contribute still, and I want to do it.”
The former lawmaker said Republicans had released a report that "fabricates lies and defamatory allegations."
Authorities in Madison said they are looking into the 15-year-old assailant's online activity, as well as a purported manifesto and potential bullying.
Congressional leaders have unveiled legislation that will keep the federal government funded through March 14.
Prosecutors said the allegations are just a ploy to cast doubt on the verdict.
