Japanese police arrested a mother for allegedly starving and abusing her daughter so she could collect insurance payments.
However, after police contacted the medical institutions they found no proof that the daughter had ever been diagnosed with such a disease. Police suspect that the mother told the school this so that they would not infer abuse. Matthew Noyes reports for Fox News Digital from Japan. Matthew graduated from SUNY Albany summa cum laude with majors in Political Science and Japanese Language. A New Hampshire native, he moved to Japan in 2018.
The Japan Times report stated that investigators believed that the mother regularly starved her daughter, hospitalizing her 43 times for a total of 332 days since spring 2018 and subsequently obtaining some $40,000 in insurance benefits from three institutions.
