Most China-tied 'Confucius Institutes' have shut down on US college campuses after funding losses: report

Only about five Chinese government-tied Confucius Institutes are still open on U.S. college campuses after pressure from the federal government to restrict funding.
During former President Donald Trump's administration in 2018, Congress "restricted federal funding to schools with institutes; nearly all of the institutes have since closed," the GAO report explained.
