Montra Electric inaugurates e-SCV plant in Chennai

TIVOLT Electric Vehicles inaugurates e-SCV manufacturing plant in Chennai with high-performance EVIATOR for sustainable transportation solutions.
TIVOLT Electric Vehicles Private Ltd., the e-SCV Division of Montra Electric has inaugurated its manufacturing plant for electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCV) in Ponneri, Chennai.
The facility has an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles, catering to the Small and Light Commercial Vehicle (SCV/LCV) segments. Located near the Kolkata highway, and 35 kilometres from Chennai city, the plant is designed to efficiently serve the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions in India, the company said in a statement.
Arun Murugappan, executive chairman, Tube Investments of India Limited (TII) said, “We remain committed to innovative and sustainable clean mobility solutions. Montra Electric has been at the forefront of India’s EV transformation, and this plant marks a significant step forward in our journey.”
“As we prepare for the future, we are determined to contribute meaningfully to India’s goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070,” he added.

The launch of this plant not only strengthens our production capabilities but also reinforces our commitment to providing industry-leading EV solutions.”
The newly inaugurated plant will primarily manufacture EVIATOR, Montra Electric’s latest product in the e-SCV segment.
It has a certified range of 245 km and a real-life range of 170 km. The company said the product has the highest power output in its category at 80 kW and a torque of 300 Nm.
