A mom of five and former teacher in Canada is sparking conversation on "stranger danger" after sharing in a TikTok video a strong talking point that parents should address with kids.
"I didn’t want my kids to become so fearful of people we don’t know," Whalen told Fox News Digital in an interview. In addition to teaching her kids about "stranger danger," Whalen teaches them about what "strange behavior" means – in reference to all people – whether her kids know them personally or not. "Anybody can have strange behavior whether we know them or not —and when that starts to happen, [our kids] are immediately to come to us." Nicole Pelletiere is a senior editor on the lifestyle team at Fox News Digital.
She went on, "[The message is], ‘Be kind to people but stay away from some people if [you notice] strange behavior — [meaning] anyone making you feel unsafe, or anyone asking you to go somewhere with them."
