"Moana 2" star Auli'i Cravalho opened up about her family's financial struggles as achild before she landed her breakthrough role in the Disney film.
"I really get to have that full decade look back at just how much growth I've gone through," she told the outlet. "We lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Mililani when I was cast. I slept in the bedroom, my mom slept on the couch. She gave me everything."
Before she voiced the lead character in 2016’s "Moana," Cravalho and her mom were on food stamps and sharing a one-bedroom apartment in Mililani on Oahu.
