Minister Madhu Bangarappa takes part in construction work of government school

Minister Bangarappa participates in MGNREGA project, emphasizes community involvement in building school infrastructure in Huruli village.

Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa on Monday took part in the construction work to build a compound wall and kitchen for a government higher primary school at Huruli village in Soraba taluk, his assembly constituency.
The work has been taken up under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) Act.
Mr. Madhu Bangarappa, also the Minister in charge of Shivamogga district, laid the foundation stone and later volunteered to work for nearly an hour. He engaged himself in digging with a pickaxe and cleared the excavated soil.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect the land that belongs to government schools. Similarly, everyone should play a role in strengthening schools.
“The MGNREGA is a significant programme that has been designed and implemented to offer jobs to those who need them. Under this programme, assets are created in rural areas with the participation of the local community,” he said.
Minister for Planning and Statistics, D. Sudhakar, Balkhees Banu, MLC, Malnad Area Development Authority chairman R.M. Manjunath Gowda, Huruli gram panchayat president Anasuya Shivakumar, Congress district president R. Prasanna Kumar, and others were present.
