The Duchess of Sussex explained in the second episode of her new Netflix lifestyle series, “With Love, Meghan” that she goes by the name Meghan Sussex now, rather than the name she’s widely known by — Meghan Markle.
The duchess decided to make her preference known about 21 minutes into the episode when actor and producer Mindy Kaling — who was a guest star in the episode — kept on referring to her as “Meghan Markle.”
“It’s so funny too, that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle.’ You know I’m Sussex now,” the “Suits” alum said firmly.
Although it’s unclear how Kaling initially reacted to this confrontation due to the show’s editing, the Archewell Inc. co-founder went on to explain why being referred to as Meghan Sussex is “so meaningful” to her.
