Knicks teammates dap up Draymond Green despite his controversial Karl-Anthony Towns comments
NY Post
The Knicks didn’t exactly send a strong message to Draymond Green after his controversial comments about Karl-Anthony Towns.
Much of the team — including Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, Precious Achiuwa, MarJon Beauchamp, P.J. Tucker and even head coach Tom Thibodeau — embraced and shared pleasantries with Green following the Knicks’ 97-94 road loss to the Warriors on Saturday night.
Towns, however, quickly left the court and went straight back to the locker room right when the game ended.
It came just over a week after Green made a baseless accusation on his podcast that Towns missed the Knicks’ 114-102 loss to the Warriors at MSG earlier this month because he didn’t want to play against Jimmy Butler, his former Timberwolves teammate.
Towns had been officially ruled out due to “personal reasons” and he later revealed he and his longtime girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, had lost a close friend to breast cancer and that he was attending her funeral.
Green gave a non-apology and promoted his podcast after learning he was wrong.
