Joshua Berry wins Kolkata Challenge in playoff with 19-foot birdie putt, beating three competitors at Royal Calcutta Golf Club.
Nineteen-year-old Englishman Joshua Berry clinched a four-way playoff to win the $300,000 Kolkata Challenge at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) in Kolkata on Sunday (March 16, 2025).
Berry, who set the course record of 10-under 62 in round two, returned a 73 in the last round to tie with Andreas Halvorsen (71), Lukas Nemecz (72) and home favourite Om Prakash Chouhan (70) at 11-under 277.
Berry’s 19-foot birdie putt on the second extra hole earned him the title.
Halvorsen, Nemecz and Chouhan finished joint runners-up. Chouhan bowed out after missing a three-footer for par on the first playoff hole.
S.S.P. Chawrasia and Samarth Dwivedi shot an identical 67. While Chawrasia jumped 18 spots to secure the sixth place with 279, Dwivedi moved up 22 slots to finish tied-seventh with 280.
