“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart said the efforts to give the Republican National Convention a more unifying theme after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump weren’t entirely successful.
“One particularly fiery member of Congress struggled mightily as her body rejected the unity theme, as though it were transplanted like a monkey heart,” he said.
Stewart rolled footage Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) speaking at the event, pausing frequently to smile upward, wave a fist, and make an unnerving sound as the audience cheered.
“She knows she’s making that noise, right?” Stewart wondered. “Or is that the noise when the interior monologue is going, ’Marjorie, there’s gonna be plenty of time to talk about Satanic Democrats, just keep it in, Marjorie, just... ”
