Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton open up about what led to the A-list actor landing the role of Edward Scissorhands in the 1990 film.
"[Tom Cruise] was not far away from actually playing Edward Scissorhands — true story," Depp said in the documentary, according to People. Christina Dugan Ramirez is an entertainment writer for Fox News Digital.
"[Cruise] certainly wasn’t my ideal, but I talked to him", Burton said. "He was interesting, but I think it worked out for the best."
