John Lennon’s son Julian, 61, reveals second cancer scare: ‘Fingers crossed’
NY Post
John Lennon’s oldest son opened up about a terrifying health scare.
Julian Lennon, 61, whom the late Beatles icon had with his first wife, Cynthia Lennon, said that he had been treated for skin cancer a second time.
Posting to his social media Wednesday, Lennon also said that he underwent an emergency operation on two areas on his skin — shoulder and forearm — and that one turned out to be melanoma.
Lennon shared that he got an urgent call from his doctor before flying to Los Angeles to appear on “Good Morning America” and do press for his new book “Life’s Fragile Moments.”
“My lovely dermatologist [was] the one who caught and operated on my mole skin cancer a few years ago, and literally saved my life,” he wrote as the caption of the post, which included several black-and-white photos before and after the operation.
“Anyway, after having just finished GMA, I received a message from Dr Tess, with some urgency to return to Los Angeles, as I had two locations on my skin, shoulder and forearm, one of which was melanoma, that should be operated on asap!!” Lennon explained.
