Jets request interview with Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo
NY Post
Steve Spagnuolo could find in New York his second full-time opportunity to be a head coach.
Just not with the team you would expect.
The Jets put in a request Wednesday to interview Spagnuolo, the Chiefs defensive coordinator, for their head coach vacancy, The Post confirmed.
He is the only coach in NFL history to win four Super Bowl rings as a coordinator on either side of the ball (three with the Chiefs after one with the Giants).
Two great seasons as Giants defensive coordinator – including authoring a masterpiece against the high-scoring undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl 42 – catapulted Spagnuolo into becoming Rams head coach in 2009.
He went 10-38 over three seasons.
