
‘India’s startup ecosystem is impressive and rapidly evolving’

VIT-TBI director discusses VIT's support for student entrepreneurs in webinar, showcasing success stories and startup ecosystem in India.

VIT offers a conducive environment and infrastructure for budding entrepreneurs, Balachandran A., director, VIT-TBI, VIT Vellore said in a webinar titled ‘Startup Success: The VIT Blueprint’.
“India’s startup ecosystem is impressive and rapidly evolving—we are now the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world,” he said, adding that VIT provides strong support to talented individuals. “This is not just about creating startups—it’s about becoming job providers,” he added.
During the session, three student entrepreneurs from VIT spoke of their entrepreneurial journeys, according to a press release.
Anmol Saxena, a B.Tech graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Class of 2017, and the founder of Ashva Wearable Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company which develops AI-powered wearable devices spoke about how she founded her startup and how the support from her college helped.
Pranav Srinivasan, a B.Tech Mechanical Engineering graduate from the Class of 2019, and founder of Accio Robotics, a company that manufactures mobile robots designed for compact, high-density environments said, “My co-founder and I started this from our dorm room—it’s truly a college dormitory startup. VIT supported me emotionally and financially when I chose not to pursue higher studies or take up a job after graduation.”
Shri Vishal, currently a B.Tech student in Electronics and Communication Engineering, has founded Jol Energy Pvt. Ltd., an e-waste recycling startup. “Balancing academics and a startup can be tough, but VIT has been instrumental in helping us manage both,” he added.
