Day temperatures in Telangana likely to rise and reach a peak in May Premium

Get ready for a scorching summer ahead with temperatures expected to rise by 2-3 degrees in Telangana region.
If you are already sweating due to the summer heat now-a-days just wait, it is going to get hotter by next week with the weather forecasters expecting a two-three degrees rise in temperatures in the capital region and across Telangana.
The maximum or the day temperatures, which are now hovering around 38-39 degree C in the twin cities and up to 42 degree C in the North Telangana region of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad. Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Kamareddy, and others, could soon see a rise of up to three degrees above normal.
“From about April 15-18, we can expect the day temperatures to rise and this will reach the peak in May. This is also the period when the hot Northerly winds will pick up momentum over the prevailing Easterlies,” explained Telangana Development Planning Society (TGPS) senior weather consultant Y. V. Rama Rao.
The hot climate could also lead to ‘heat waves’ and citizens have been cautioned not to venture out between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. plus also protect themselves from the searing heat during the day. Mr. Rama Rao said that, so far, the region has been experiencing ‘normal’ summer with the day temperatures hovering between 37-39 degrees C in most places with spikes here and there in the capital region. In the districts, it has been in the range of 39-42 degree C, with a some places in North Telangana recording above normal temperatures on a slightly higher side.
“We have also been experiencing the Easterlies from the Bay of Bengal bringing in a lot of moisture and dominating the Northerlies. This climatic phenomenon coupled with the local heating of the atmosphere has been resulting in light rain and thunderstorms towards the evening, of late,” explained the senior weather forecaster.
Soon, these climatic conditions will change and the maximum temperatures are likely to reach up to 41 degree C or more in the twin cities. Whereas in the districts it will be a couple of notches more and hover around 42-43 degree C.
In the North Telangana region, the maximum temperatures are likely to reach up to 44 degree C or even go further up to 46 degree C later in some places. And, this is going to have an effect on the minimum temperatures or the night time temperatures as well.
