Hyderabad FC and Kerala Blasters aim to salvage their disappointing seasons in their final Indian Super League match.
With both teams out of playoff contention, Hyderabad FC and Kerala Blasters will look to end their disappointing seasons on a positive note when they face each other in their final 2024-25 Indian Super League match here on Wednesday.
Punjab FC’s young guns put three past HFC last week to bring an end to its strong run at home, where it had not tasted defeat since the end of December. The Nizams have been ineffective at either end of the pitch this season, conceding the most goals (46) and scoring the second fewest (21).
While HFC has the second lowest chances created (197), Bengaluru FC, despite creating only 196, has bagged almost twice as many goals — highlighting the importance of making the most of everything that comes your way. The home side, unsurprisingly, has also taken the fewest shots (208) in the league so far.
Meanwhile, visiting side KBFC has matched its goal tally from last season (32), when it finished fifth. However, it has been very generous at the back, conceding 36 goals this campaign, matching its highest tally in the ISL (2020-21). It is also a team that relies heavily on crosses, having made the second highest (503) among all teams, with only BFC (511) ahead of it.
With just pride on the line, the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium could witness a free-flowing, entertaining game between two sides who will be eager to put this season to bed and turn their focus to what’s around the corner.
