RGIA advises early arrival for holiday season travel to avoid last-minute hassles amid record-breaking passenger traffic.
Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has urged passengers to arrive early in light of the ongoing weekend and the Christmas holiday season. Anticipating a surge in passenger traffic, the airport has issued a travel advisory to ensure smooth operations and avoid last-minute hassles.
In a post shared on X, RGIA said “With the holiday season upon us, we expect an increase in traffic. We recommend you plan your journey to the airport in advance and arrive two hours for domestic and three hours for international departures before your flight. Make sure to carry all valid documents and cooperate with the staff for a smooth experience,” read the advisory.
In November 2024, the airport recorded its highest-ever monthly passenger traffic, surpassing the 25-lakh mark. The monthly traffic report released by GMR Airports Limited revealed that RGIA handled a total of 25.31 lakh passengers during the month.
The busiest day for the airport was November 10, when it managed an impressive 89,000 passengers in a single day, according to the report.
