Rep. Jared Moskowitz avoided a "long speech" with the help of a sign poking fun at the Signal scandal.
Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) used three emojis ― a fist, an American flag and a ball of fire ― to clown Republicans on Tuesday after news that senior Trump officials used the third-party messaging app Signal to exchange war plans.
“It’s always good when we have something bipartisan to point it out because it happens so little around here anymore, but rather than giving a really big, long speech I feel like I could just use this,” said Moskowitz before holding up a sign with the emojis combination at a House judiciary committee meeting.
He continued to gesture to the sign, “And this will tell you that I think it’s good.”
The emojis were sent by Michael Waltz, Trump’s national security adviser, in the Signal text chain as Trump officials reacted to military strikes on Yemen.
Waltz, who is facing calls for his resignation after he invited The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to the Signal chat, suggested that Goldberg somehow made his way into the group on his own accord.
