Hawaii health officials call for action as syphilis cases rise

The Hawaii Department of Health warned this week that expanded screening and treatment are crucial steps to address an increasing rate of syphilis cases there in women and newborns.
The number of babies born with congenital syphilis ranged from zero to four cases from 2000 to 2019 and 20 cases in 2021. Julia Musto is a reporter for Fox News and Fox Business Digital.
